Andy Chinneck (& 39 others!) is raising $4,000 for Forest Pulse
We are doing a charity walk (approximately 15 miles) in London on Thursday 16th June 2016 to support Forest Pulse. Forest Pulse is an independent charity which supports any family with a disabled child aged up to 19, living or attending school in the Forest of Dean, and they are also piloting a 19+ project. Forest Pulse believes that disabled children and young people should have the same opportunities to take part in social, recreational and sports activities as their non-disabled peers, and to be able to do this independently of their parents/carers. They therefore provide a wide range of after school, weekend and holiday activities which are accessible to any disabled young person regardless of their level of ability or mobility, and including those with profound, complex and challenging needs. They also provide guidance, advice and support to parents and create opportunities for families to meet and share experiences. The reason that we have chosen this charity is because one of the team members has a daughter, Lucy, who was diagnosed with a chromosome abnormality, after being born prematurely (weighing only 3lb 12oz.). Lucy has severe developmental delay and learning difficulties and requires help with most of her daily routine. Forest Pulse has been an absolute lifeline to Lucy's family, as she can be extremely challenging from a behavioural point of view and also mentally draining. You can only but imagine the effect of living with such a sibling can have on her two younger brothers. Lucy loves going to Forest Pulse, as it gives her more social skills and friends and the staff are absolutely brilliant. So, this is where you come in... it would be amazing if you could donate and support our charity walk for this fantastic charity. No donation is too small, but the larger the better!!! Thanks for reading.
