emma coulter is raising £200 for Manacare Foundation
About
I am running my first half marathon on 15th March at Hampton Court Palace. I have also been roped into walking 25 miles (nearly a marathon) with my Dad & a group of people on 25th April (his bday so I couldn’t say no!) I have decided to use these to fundraise for a fantastic cause. You’ll probably know that I went to Sri Lanka last year & raved about it! Some of you will also know that my Dad went out there at the end of last year. He went to visit a friend, Joy, and her orphanage. Joy is a retired businesswoman who was so moved by the plight of children who lost their parents in the 2004 Tsunami that she set up an orphanage in Sri Lanka. Since then she has expanded the work to care for children with special needs whose families cannot care for them and for women and children who have been rescued from a range of challenging circumstances. It is a tremendous achievement and is all carried out with love. Importantly, it is a charity where we can guarantee that every penny raised will be spent directly on the needs of the people they serve (one reason why we are using givey because they do not take a commision). The Charity is called Manacare and registered in the UK - charity number 1108701.
