The Ystradgynlais Santa Shuffle is taking place on 21st December. The volunteer centre and woodstore (former Remploy building) does an amazing job for the community. Most of it goes on behind the scenes so the public have no idea how the volunteers and staff work for the community. If you need help or advice its the place to go. Many courses are run from the centre and the woodstore. In the centre and the woodstore there are opportunities for people to enhance their skills to help with the job market. Transport and befriending are a couple of other services on offer. At the Woodstore you can buy good as new furniture for amazing prices. Unfortunately as many charities are, our grants have been cut and have to rely more and more on Fundraising, which is where you come in friends. The Volunteer Centre is a huge part of community life in Ystradgynlais and we need help to keep the doors open. As I am unable to walk or even shuffle far I will be using the volunteer centre's mobility scooter to get round. Not cheating will still do it. www.ystradgynlaisvc.org.uk
