I will be running the London Marathon 2025 for International Needs UK because I want to do what I can to help provide a better future for others. I was privileged to spend some time in rural Tanzania 25 years ago and met people who materially had very little, especially compared to us in the UK, but who faced their challenges with such joy and generosity that I was completely humbled. International Needs partners with local people, supporting projects that aim to build a more secure future through providing education and skills. My sponsorship will go towards a residential Leadership and Talent Centre for street boys/young men in Nairobi, providing them with the skills they need to get off the streets and thrive (https://ineeds.org.uk/projects/leadership-and-talent-centre-for-kenyas-street-youth/). I am not a natural runner and this is going to be a huge challenge for me, so I am hoping you will encourage me to persevere by making a donation to International Needs.
