The SpEx department (Sport & Exercise) at Highgate School are raising funds for North London Action for the Homeless, throughout the School's Fundraising February month. Between us we are aiming to cover 456 miles (to match the number of years the school has been in existence) and raise £1565 (to match the date of our foundation) before the end of February by a variety of means, including running, cycling, walking, hitting golf shots, juggling, pirouetting and dry land swimming to name but a few! We will be posting updates of how we get on on here as well as on our Social Media channels, so you can follow our progress! North London Action for the Homeless (NLAH) has run sessions for homeless people, the socially isolated, and those in financial hardship for over 25 years. They are a local charity; 65% of our service users and many volunteers and donors are based locally. NLAH was established in direct response to the basic needs of rough sleepers and homeless people, and in recent years we have seen their numbers increase dramatically. We have an experienced and committed team of volunteers and receive huge support from local businesses. As well as meals, NLAH aims to provide a sense of community to people who feel isolated or find themselves on the margins.
