We are running 100 miles around Cornwall for East Cornwall Search & Rescue, which is a 100% volunteer led charity. They provide 365 days, 24/7 search and rescue service for all members of the community. We have run many long-distance events but never quite managed to complete 100 miles, so you really are sponsoring our suffering. Between us we have over 100 years’ experience, this means that we have become slower but alas not any wiser. For those that know Cornwall, we start in Looe and run across Bodmin Moor to Boscastle, down the SW coast path to Padstow, over to Fowey and revisit the SW coast path to head back to Looe. Special thanks to the event organisers, Purple Gecko, who have donated our entry money to East Cornwall Search & Rescue. We are aiming to raise £1000 to purchase the team two ‘rapid rescue bags’, which includes a range of warming kit and clothes so that when lost individuals are located, they can be quickly warmed, whilst we relocate them back to safety.
