Hello friends and family!! We are running the London Marathon on the 26th April 2026 to raise money for the Leadership and Talent Centre project for Nairobi’s Street Youth. We have known of this project for a number of years as it is closely partnered with International Needs UK, a charity linked to our church. Pastor Joshua (please see photo below), who runs the project, has been to speak at our church and a number of people we know have been to visit the project. The Leadership and Talent Centre will offer holistic care and vocational training for young men living on the streets of Nairobi. Many have endured neglect, poverty, and violence, leaving them with deep emotional scars and often trapped in cycles of trauma and addiction. Alongside emotional support, the Centre will provide hands-on vocational training to equip these young men with practical, marketable skills. This enables them to start small businesses or gain stable employment, fostering independence, confidence, and a sense of purpose. Ultimately, the aim is for these young men to become role models and leaders in their communities. Through their own transformation, they are empowered to guide others facing similar challenges, using their stories to inspire change and encourage others to develop their talents and build better lives. The aim of the project is to build a rehabilitation centre able to house 15 young men at a time. The land for the Centre has already been bought (Pastor Joshua is standing outside it in the photo below), however money is still needed for the construction of the building - that’s where you come in!!
