Story

KINOE’s mission is to educate some of the poorest children in India and Nepal, to enable them to develop the skills they need to get a job or go on to higher education. We believe that money spent on education is more effective at lifting people out of poverty than any other form of aid.

We help around 15,000 underprivileged children each year to benefit from a good education. The impact on their lives and the lives of the people in their communities can be dramatic.

In India, we support the Akanksha Foundation, which now impacts over 14,700 children, and operates 27 schools in 3 cities. We also support Teach for India, which aims to end illiteracy in India within two decades, and currently has 1,000 Fellows teaching across 9 cities.

In Nepal, we support Lo Kunphen Medical School, based in the remote Himalayan community of Lo Manthang, in Upper Mustang, and the town of Pokhara, which as well as teaching children the national curriculum also transmits the ancient tradition of amchi (Tibetan medicine). Additionally, we support ABC Nepal in Kathmandu, an organisation that rescues and educates exploited girls.
