Help our homeless: Covid-19 crisis recovery
Story

The mission of Chelsea Methodist Church is to support homeless and vulnerable people in need. We’ve been doing this since 1903 from our church on King's Road, next door to Chelsea Old Town Hall. Three days a week, our drop-in centre inside the church provides: - A safe, welcoming space for 100+ guests to socialise within an inclusive community (before Covid-19) - Free hot drinks, snacks, cooked communal lunch, toilets, shower, laundry facilities, clothing, postal service and telephone - Appointments for 1:1 practical support sessions with caseworkers at Glass Door Homeless Charity (our partner co-located in Chelsea Methodist Church), and regular interactions with our own staff and volunteers - A fortnightly GP service - Support groups for women - A winter night shelter on Mondays for 50 men and women, in partnership with Glassdoor. We are one of seven participating local churches on rotation providing one of London’s major homeless night shelter services.
