About
May all that have life be delivered from suffering Gautama Buddha I can't remember a time when I didn't love animals and nature. Since primary school I was vegetarian, and for over 11/12 years I have been vegan, doing what I can to reduce my impact on this world and it's inhabitants. I believe, through our daily choices, that we can all do our part to help end the suffering of millions of animals and humans. Anyone who has ever had an animal companion, whether it be a dog, cat, hamster, guinea pig, snake etc....will know and understand how they are part of the family; they are loved, respected and cared for and they enrich our lives and we would never want them to suffer. This is the first time I have ever entered a running competition. Yes, it is a challenge for myself, but on Sunday, March 23rd, I will be running the Coventry Half Marathon for the animals! (That's 13.1 miles, or 21.09 kilometers!!) Any donations, big or small, really do help and 100% will go to the Hillside Animal Sanctuary. Hillside Animal Sanctuary was founded in 1995 to help and campaign for animals in need and to bring public awareness to the millions of animals suffering every day in the intensive factory farming industry. At Hillside, horses, dogs, rabbits, pigs, ponies, turkeys, ferrets, chipmunks, ducks, chickens, sheep, cattle, parrots, deer, ostriches, llamas...................thank you :) The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated.
