Raising money by running to improve our pitches at Nutley FC
Story

We are a small grassroots football club based in the village of Nutley, East Sussex. We are a non profit community group staffed by volunteers from our local community. Our pitches have suffered from waterlogging and worm casts. We commissioned a report of our pitches from the Sussex FA & Institute of Groundsmanship which has detailed the steps we need to take to make improvements. Following these steps will improve the quality of the playing surfaces, reduce postponement of matches and allow for the hosting of one more adult team (hopefully a women’s team) and hopefully another junior team.

So now we want our players and supporters to set themselves a running challenge to raise money to take some of these steps and improve our pitches. Running is a cheap, accessible exercise that will improve fitness, help with weight loss, relieve stress, be fun and do lots of other good things. Almost anyone can do it.

We'd love our cumulative running distance to reach 1890km (1890 being the year the club was founded) by the end of the season. Do you fancy becoming a fundraiser for this project? Perhaps you could set yourself a goal to run a particular distance in one run or a particular distance over a longer period of time. Achieve your own challenge and raise money for our pitch improvement and you will earn a limited edition reward: raise £100 for a Nutley FC Run Hero cap, raise £250 for a Nutley FC Run Hero Hoodie. If you fancy it then signup to Givey, start fundraising and choose Nutley FC Run Hero as your charity. If you have any questions please contact Gavin Paisley or Sean Fuller.

If you fancy donating to any of our wonderful fundraisers listed below we would be most grateful.

Update: as of 1st Nov 20 we've run 152km
