About
So who are PAFRAS? Positive Action for Refugees and Asylum Seekers works with destitute asylum seekers, refugees, local communities in Leeds and the surrounding areas. PAFRAS provides humanitarian support for asylum seekers who are homeless, without food or money and prevented from improving their situation by Government policy. PAFRAS operates a weekly drop in providing hot food, food parcels, food vouchers, casework and mental health support. PAFRAS' aims are: to reduce the effects of destitution and poverty, improving physical/mental health and wellbeing, support access to mainstream services, improve integration and raise awareness amongst local communities. Who are the PAFRAS Runners? We are Alex and Liz, from Migration Yorkshire and we're taking part in the Leeds Abbey Dash 10k run to raise funds for PAFRAS on 4th November. We think it’s fair to say this will be a challenge for both of us, as one of us has never run before and the other not for a number of years. We're aiming to raise £1000 for PAFRAS, so please support us for this very worthy cause - thank you! https://www.pafras.org.uk/
