About
Hope and Faith School, is based in the Ng'Ombe compound, Lusaka, Zambia. The school has 600 pupils and 40 teachers, a similar number to Portree High School. Most children in the compound do not have access to education, and the H&F school provides education to all. It also provides a hot lunch each day. There is no government funding for the school, and it relies on donations from the Isle of Skye, Oxford and Western Australia. Staff and pupils at Portree high school are doing a virtual Cycle/run to Zambia (7788 miles) during this time of lockdown to show solidarity with our partner school at this difficult time, who are still open, but trying to work with social distancing measures. If every member of the phs community takes part, then each person would have to run/cycle just 16 miles over the duration of the lockdown! If every person was able to get £1 per mile sponsorship, we would reach our target. Like us on facebook to see latest updates about the school- https://www.facebook.com/friendsofhopeandfaith/ When you make your donation through Givey, H& F school receives 100% of the donation. You can also Gift Aid, if you are a taxpayer, which means even more money to the school. Your details are safe with Givey and donating is completely secure.
