Givin it Laldie is raising £500 for Givin' it Laldie
About
Hello, we are Rowan and Nick, and together with Nick’s daughter Eden and Rowan’s daughters Zelle, Annika and husband Greg, we are doing the Kilt Walk to raise money for Givin' it Laldie - a community music charity based in the Gorbals, Glasgow.

Givin' it Laldie do fantastic work to bring folk aged 9 - 99 from diverse backgrounds together to have fun, learn new things, improve their health and wellbeing, make friends and make life-long memories. Singing and playing music together has a unique ability to bond us together, help us process difficult emotions and create a sense of belonging.

Each week they run 8 different groups including guitar sessions, choirs, production classes, band sessions and singing in local sheltered housing complexes and dementia units. All sessions are held in accessible venues, no previous music knowledge is required to take part and Givin' it Laldie provide all the resources needed to take part. They even lend guitars to people so they can practice at home between sessions.

They also support participants to volunteer their improving music skills to bring joy to others by performing at community events, fundraisers and awareness raising initiatives.

All money donated will go towards paying musicians to run the sessions, buying snacks and refreshments, buying music resources and ensuring they can provide safe, warm welcoming spaces to run the sessions in.
