After 23 years teaching and 8 years parenting a child with complex SEN and early childhood trauma, I have decided to use my experiences to help other children. As well as training to be an educational psychologist specialising in trauma, I am working with the charity Hear Their Roar who support children and young people from the slums and streets in Africa who are experiencing trauma. Hear Their Roar develop emotional health and communication skills, restoring identity and renewing hope, as well as working with the adults in the communities, be they parents/carers, teachers or social workers focusing on how to parent and care for children and adolescents.
