About
A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for Space2face to join Shetland's brand new creativity and wellness centre, The Mission. This recently developed space aims to bring together small businesses and organisations from across Shetland who are committed to motivating and contributing to the local community. Joining The Mission will provide a safe, secure and permanent space in the heart of Lerwick for clients and guests of Space2face to use and receive support in. Having this base will allow Space2face to develop and grow our services and offer consistency to clients by welcoming them into a friendly and supportive environment. We receive no statutory funding so we are asking if you can please consider leaving a gift and helping secure the future of Space2face. By donating here today, you will help us secure the first three months of rent. Space2face has been delivering Restorative Justice services with the Shetland community for 12 years, originally as a partnership project between the Community Mediation Team and Shetland Arts, and now as an independent charitable organisation, which we became in 2016. We are managed by a board of trustees and are proud that our board includes former clients who have been harmed through crime. In 2016, we received a Restorative Practice UK Award for our creative approaches to Restorative Justice (criminal justice category), and are a unique project in the UK as we use the arts, the making and gifting of things, within Restorative Justice processes. You don't have to be creative or arty to use our service! We've just learned that through making something, talking about difficult things is sometimes easier. Take a look at some of the items people have created through Space2face Shetland. Space2face works with those harmed through crime (victims), as well as those responsible for causing it (offenders). We also work more broadly within the community and offer a range of services. These include Restorative Practices training courses in schools, and as professional development for other agencies. Thank you for visiting our Givey page. When you make your donation through Givey, the Charity receives 100% of the donation. Your details are safe with Givey and donating is completely secure. Whatsmore, they never share your email address with any third parties except the Charity you donate to.
