I'm joining the Wheely Tots team for the Space Race to help reach our target of covering 507 miles by running, walking or cycling during August. That's the distance to the International Space Station and back again.
In August 2020 I will have been working with Wheely Tots for 2 years. I've been welcomed into the team even though I'm a very unconfident cyclist! My miles will be covered on foot (unless I get talked into riding a bike).
Through the Covid-19 crisis we've had to make lots of changes to what we do but we have all used our skills and resources to continue to support families to access cycling safely, and help those most in need. We've delivered bikes and balance bikes, run a foodbank, mended bikes and helped families get out and about more. You can read more at www.wheelytots.com.
Each £100 raised will fund:
- a balance bike & 20 minute walking / cycling session for a local vulnerable family to improve their health & wellbeing and sense of family connectedness
- repairs for a bike to allow a key worker to avoid public transport and feel happier about their commute
- a 2 hour walking / cycling session for an adult or family: this improves confidence, creates a positive micro community interaction and helps people keep on with their walking and cyclingTo find out more about the Space Race, who we're racing and how to join in see www.wheelytots.com/spacerace
