Spen Greenwood is raising £500 for The Unity Project (TUP)
About
I am running the Hackney Half Marathon on 17/05/2020 to raise money for The Unity Project, a charity in Islington which supports people who have the 'no recourse to public funds' (NRPF) condition on their immigration status. The Unity Project is a tiny operation, kept afloat by a small number of people who give tonnes of time and energy to make it work. The support it provides includes individual casework helping to change the NRPF condition, childcare and hot meal provision, community and conversations, litigation and legal challenges to the NRPF policy, detailed research on the effects of the policy, workshops to help people make their own NRPF change of conditions applications, media and policy work, and God knows what else. It's a great project, and those involved give so much of themselves. Please show your support for their work, and for those affected by the NRPF policy, some of whom are volunteers themselves, by helping me raise a little this spring. I have been volunteering with The Unity Project since August 2018.
