The Montane Spine Mountain Rescue Team Challenge is a non-stop, 108 mile race along the Pennine Way between Edale in Derbyshire and Hawes in North Yorkshire with a time limit of 60 hours, for members of Mountain Rescue teams. "This challenging and technical section of the Pennine Way is a physically and psychologically demanding route that demands concentration, good physical fitness, resolve and respect." I’ll be setting off from Edale at 8 a.m. on Saturday 14th January with the other MR competitors and you can track my progress via the tracker that I’ll be carrying (see website ). Depending on conditions (gales, snow, ice, rain, impassable rivers!) I’m hoping to complete the event in slightly better than my previous time of 36.5 hours (non-stop)!
