St John's Appeal for a water storage tank in Mbeere, Kenya
About
In the words of our Kenyan sister, the Venerable Doris Kagendo, “This project is to construct an underground water tank at Good Samaritan Church Nyangwa to harvest and store rainwater. This will make a great difference to our community because water is a major challenge, especially during the dry seasons. Having reliable water storage will provide water for the church, schools and surrounding community. It will support our tree-planting and environmental conservation work and reduce the burden on families who have to travel long distances looking for water. It will help us make better use of the rainwater and strengthen our resilience to climate change.” Ven Doris also says “Thank you so much for being willing to help us raise the funds. This means so much to me and the people of our community.” The project will be overseen by the Peter Cowley Africa Trust which provides grants for water projects in eastern Kenya. Love your neighbour – please give as generously as you are able to.
