About
Thank you for visiting our Givey page. Our vision is to create a suicide-specific therapeutic support service in Glasgow City. Tranquillity House was created to support those at risk of suicide in Glasgow and their allies and supporters. We are dedicated to being part of the solution to the suicide crisis. 99 people were recorded to have killed themselves in Glasgow during 2018 - this is deeply shocking to know we have lost this many people in our city. It is estimated that 1 in 20 people are thinking about suicide at any one time. In Glasgow that means 30,400 people are thinking about suicide right now! We can work together to make stronger support structures. We have a small dedicated Board of Trustees who have a wealth of professional experience & knowledge in this sector along with personal experience. We are building a community of local people who have first hand knowledge of using services in Glasgow and together we are creating an effective therapeutic service that will meet the needs of those at risk of suicide in Glasgow. We are currently delivering a community based project where we are creating opportunities/spaces for people to come together through expressive arts to reduce isolation, build connections & engage in conversations about suicide, explore community-based solutions, & to build a peer support network. At this time, we are providing a limited amount of therapeutic support to a few individuals, with this money we will be able to extend the provision of this therapeutic support which will include Contextual Conceptual Therapy and Therapeutic Massage. Don't be alone with suicide. When you make your donation through Givey, the Charity receives 100% of the donation. Your details are safe with Givey and donating is completely secure. Whatsmore, they never share your email address with any third parties except the Charity you donate to.
