I am proud to be joining a group of parents on 20th September 2025 to take part in The Great River Race, London’s challenging 21.6 mile River Mrathon. We will be rowing one of Shadwell Outdoor Activity Centre’s traditional Skerries along the Thames from Millwall to East Richmond, passing some of London’s most iconic landmarks.
This event is deeply personal to me because my daughter, who has special education needs, has been participating in and benefiting from the programmes run by Shadwell Basin Outdoor Activity Centre for several years. The Centre has provided her with invaluable opportunities to develop confidence, independence, and social skills in a supportive outdoor environment tailored to her needs.
I must admit, I have no prior rowing experience, so this will be a very challenging task for me. However, I am motivated by the profound impact the Centre has had on my daughter’s growth and happiness. Taking on this challenge is my way of giving back and helping to ensure that Shadwell Basin can continue to offer these life-changing programmes to children like her.
I invite you to support us in this challenge and help sustain the vital work of Shadwell Outdoor Activity Centre. Together, we can make a real difference in the lives of young people with diverse needs, empowering them to reach their full potential.
Thank you for your kindness and support as we row for this wonderful cause.
