Vulnerable Citizen Support’s over-arching aim is to help anyone who needs it for any reason – no judgement, no realms of red tape or complicated referrals, just instant accessible support. We run a food and baby bank in Leeds, deliver food parcels to those who need it, assist with welfare issues including homelessness, housing support, domestic violence help, deportation cases, support for ex-offenders and rehabilitation help. We are also building Leeds' first container home village which will house homeless people, giving them a second shot at a stable life. The project will create single-occupancy homes in containers, fully refurbished to meet Building Regulations and simultaneously our organisation will provide a package of support to help occupants get back on their feet and eventually find employment and a permanent home. VCS also delivers a youth crime prevention project, based on lived experience to deter young people from knife crime and gang-related activity.
