Since the outbreak of Coronavirus / COVID-19 WODS Musical Theatre Company is having to postpone and re-arrange their 2020 shows. As a charity-based society along with other groups this is a difficult time, so we are reaching out to the local and wider community for your support. WODS Musical Theatre Company has been performing in Weston-super-Mare since 1972 when founder Lois Joy bought together a dozen-or-so people, mostly with no stage experience. From this day WODS has always been a ‘family’ society and no matter what show we perform we’ve always ‘produced the goods’ when It mattered. Having a musical theatre company in the area allows people to break away from social issues/matters and get together with like-minded people to create wonderful pieces of theatre which are then shared with our local community. Involvement in these groups also helps people develop their social and communicational skills as well as improving self-esteem and confidence. WODS has always relied heavily on fundraising events in the community however, since the Government guidelines of restricted events we are unable to organise these. We are hoping our online fundraising page will encourage people to support their local musical theatre company from the comfort and safety of their own home. Any amount that can be generously donated will create a huge difference for the society. We thank everyone who has contributed or been involved with WODS Musical Theatre Company this year and hope to be back performing in our local theatres soon. To everyone - STAY SAFE! we'll see you soon.
