York Rescue Boat is run 100% by volunteers so every penny you raise or donate directly supports the work we do. Our mission is to help keep York rivers safe through education, prevention and rescue.

Our operational crew patrol the River Ouse on foot and boat every Friday and Saturday evening from 6.30pm til early hours, keeping a watchful eye on activity and being a visible presence. We cover the Foss when possible on foot, with plans for Kayak patrols in 2018. Our amazing team work closely with schools, clubs and groups to educate on water safety including the dangers of cold water shock, how to respond and safe actions to take.

In addition we provide a stand-by team 24 hours /7 days a week, that respond as an auxiliary service to the 999 services in area's of Search & Rescue and community flood assistance.
