Youth Concern supports vulnerable 13-25 year olds across Aylesbury Vale. From its base in Aylesbury town centre, the charity’s experienced team of staff and volunteers offer a range of services including emotional support, counselling, food and care parcels, advocacy, help with employment, education and training, and practical assistance to deal with homelessness. We also run Nightstop Aylesbury providing emergency accommodation in host homes and The Next Step, longer term supported accommodation.
The increasing costs of living and rent are leaving more young people at risk of becoming homeless. Even those with jobs can’t always afford to pay for accommodation, let alone heating and food. We are seeing an increase in the number of young people requesting food parcels and care parcels, and relying on us for hot meals, budgeting and benefits advice. There’s always something to spend money on, and we’re all aware of prices rising. But if you don’t need your energy grant, or your Winter Fuel Payment, please would you consider donating some or all of it to Youth Concern?
