Sally King is raising £100 for The Honeypot Children's Charity
About
I'm planning to spend a couple of hours scaring myself on a high ropes course with my workmates for the Honeypot Childrens Charity. They give annual holidays and ongoing support to children who are young carers or have tough home lives for other reasons, like: Molly, aged seven, was physically abused as a baby by both her birth parents. Her injuries required her to have seven major operations to her head, two of which were to save her sight. She lives with her grandparents who she calls Mum & Dad. Fiona is 8 years old and cares for her father who suffers from severe depression, her mother died three years ago, Fiona is frequently bullied and has no-one to turn to. Daniel is 6 years old and has a chaotic home life. His mother drinks heavily, he has no contact with his father, he often goes hungry and he regularly misses school. To raise funds, I'll be abseiling, going down a 250 foot zip wire and doing a free fall drop in a power fan descender. I'm not the biggest fan of heights and my one and only previous experience of a high ropes course left me genuinely terrified so this will be a real challenge for me!
