Bradford Metropolitan Foodbank do an amazing job collecting and distributing emergency food parcels (via referrals) to those most in need across the Bradford District. It is run entirely by a group of inspiring volunteers. Demand is especially high at the moment with an average of 600 parcels being distributed every week. When the Foodbank first opened they gave out 600 bags in one year. The pandemic coupled with a decade of austerity has meant the Foodbank has never been in more demand. Its a sad state of affairs and whilst the Government are failing those most in need it is up to the charity of the public to do what we can to support. In order to raise much needed money for the foodbank I am pledging that for every pound I raise between now and Christmas Day I will run the equivalent in miles in the first part of 2021.
