Fairoak Housing Association is a not-for-profit organisation providing supported accommodation for people with learning disabilities. Fairoak provides safe, accessible and supportive accommodation that meets the needs of our tenants and our aim is to allow them to lead as independent and fulfilling lives as possible. In recent times, many of our tenants have had their support packages reduced and this can lead to feelings of loneliness and social isolation. Our hope is that by fundraising and recruiting volunteers, tenants will be able to learn new skills and access leisure and social activities that are available in the community. At Fairoak the supported accommodation provision we offer is for adults (ages 18+) with assessed learning disabilities, including autism. The majority of our tenants have grown up in the local community and, as adults, wish to enjoy an independent lifestyle in a safe and secure environment. Whatever their situation, we encourage our tenants to participate in social and community activities, many of which are organised by Fairoak and designed to be safe, fun and enjoyable as well as introducing new skills or experiences wherever possible.
