virtual Running/Cycling/Dog Walking Challenge Supporting creativity in communities
About
Guy is heading from Land’s End to John O’Groats… virtually, of course (he likes a challenge, but he also likes central heating). Over the course of 2026, he’ll be clocking up a mighty 1,111 miles — running, cycling, and walking the dog. Why the variety? Simple: he’s fond of his knees… and they’re not quite as fresh off the production line as they once were. He’ll be sharing the adventure with regular updates — blogs, vlogs, and the occasional podcast — all (hopefully) sprinkled with a fair dose of wit. Expect progress reports, tales of triumph, and possibly a dramatic monologue or two about headwinds. Pop back now and then to see how he’s getting on. So… why is he doing this?
Well, yes — it started with a noble mission to reduce the excessive amount of lard he is currently carrying around his midrift. But being Guy, he couldn’t stop there. This isn’t just about tighter waistbands; it’s about making a difference. Along the way, he’ll be shining a spotlight on brilliant community projects that use creativity to transform lives. Throughout the year, you’ll find funding links shared here alongside his updates. If you feel inspired, you can donate to a project that speaks to you, including the Hothouse Fringe Theatre Project. And if you run a creative project supporting disadvantaged people in your community and would like your funding link featured here, get in touch. Miles will be travelled. Calories will be burned. Good causes will be championed. What could possibly go wrong?
